coupon search!

OK, this is random, but I have been trying to get into couponing. It's been going pretty well, but my 10 weeks of getting 4 Sunday papers at a time is almost up and the amount I have to pay is going up as well! I am having a hard time figuring out if the amount of the papers is more or less than what I am saving by couponing, not to mention the time it takes! Anyway, I am just wondering if any of you know a way to get a good rate on a newspaper. Right now they want $2.30 per week per paper, which isn't bad if you only get one paper, but when you get four, it adds up! I have heard that some people get one paper for $1.00. Anyway, just wondering if there are any tricks that I don't know about. Also, if you live by me and get the Sunday paper, but don't use the coupons, maybe I could just buy the coupons from you for $1.00. Just let me know! Thanks!

I know it took me awhile to get into the couponing groove. I think I get the paper for about 60$ a year (cant exactly remember) but that is about how much I save in two shopping trips so it's totally worth it for me.

It is a little harder to save since the stores who used to double coupons will only double them to 1.00$ and thats it. But my rule is everything I buy has to be on sale and I have a good coupon for.
Good luck...check out couponmom.com

I don't get the paper but I do love coupons--my mother in law gives me the ones she doesn't use and I usually save a few bucks. I didn't really see that paying for the paper just for the coupons was saving money. Unless of course you want the paper anyway and the coupons are just a bonus. Check out couponsurfer.com, clipnGocoupons.com, coupons.com--you can print off coupons for free while they last. Google coupons and there are a lot of sites to print from. They all have the same coupons and require you to create an accoutn the first time. Coupon surfer sends me a reminder each week that there are new coupons. Maceys do not accept these coupons, but everyone else has. You can also go to bettycrocker.com for coupons too and they send you recipes if you want. Besides that I have an account with myfoodstoragedeals.com and it gives me a list of all of the best deals each week and what to stock up on for food storage. I have saved tons of money and got tons of food storage. She is my sisters best friend but has this business that spread through the country. I pay $5 a month for when I joined. Plus I only go to the stores every 2 weeks to get everything, which keeps me from spending more. Plus add matching everything at walmart to get the cheapest price. I get giidy when I save money:)

Excellent posting inquiry. Love the feedback above! I've been wanting to get more coupons. I tend to just see what the sale items are for the week at a particular store (through their mailer) and go there, but I'm going to check out these coupon sites mentioned.

K, you gotta talk to my sista in law 'cause she knows everything about coupon-ing. And, there's a deal where you can get the papers for really cheap but the catch is you have to pay for them for a year up front. It might be the $60/year deal. Anyway, I told you about her and she has been going strong with this for about 2 or 3 years now. She gets a lot of things for free. Come over to my house and she will come too with her handy dandy book. She frequents: pinchingyourpennies.com

Ditto on the pinchingyourpennies.com. Lani is really good at this too. She knows her coupons! You should talk to her too! :)

I'm glad you posted this cause I've been having the same dilemma. I'm not sure what I'm saving is worth the papers and the TIME I've been spending.
PS We need to get together soon!
