I just don't understand . . .

My husband's obsession with BYU Football!!

Here we are before the game (look at those smiles).

My brother Justin, and his wife Tara and son Brogan met us there, which was fun. . . isn't Brogan adorable! He did such a good job and was so happy! Maybe he'll be a football star like his daddy!

Lots of friends met up with us too! Here I am with Lindsay and Jennie (they are rooting for the Pinkies team . . . ever heard of the)? Come on girls . . . where's the blue!? Maybe they just don't have husbands who have BYU shirts sent to them ahead of time!
The game was very close for a long time and we thought we even had a chance of winning, but in the end, we lost (17-27) so sad!!

We aren't so happy anymore! It's OK, there's always next time!? I don't think I've ever been to a BYU game where they won, though. Maybe I'm bad luck for them? Who knows!?

The loss didn't deter my husband at all from planning to attend more games this year. . . Las Vegas, San Diego, Provo (multiple times, since we will be living in Salt Lake by November), and he even thought about driving to New Mexico (but gave it up after finding out it was 10 hrs from Fullerton)! He still might drive to Laramie, though, from Salt Lake for the game against Wyoming. He's obviously a bigger fan than me, but I'm glad that he has something he enjoys doing, and that he finally has time to enjoy doing it. He's worked so hard over the last 3 1/2 years of optometry school studying, working in clinic, holding down an on-campus job that he has to work every weekday, and serving on the Student Association Board that he hasn't had any time to watch games; let alone go to any. I think, too, that it helps him connect with his youth since he and his dad used to watch games together on Saturdays every fall since Craig was a baby. I actually think it's cute to see him so excited (instead of stressed out about school) even if I don't fully understand why he likes it so much. I'm sure, though, that there are a lot of things about me that he just doesn't understand too! Like . . . blogging, buying shampoo and conditioner that costs$20.00 a bottle, wanting makeup that costs $60.00, buying scrap book stuff and ribbon, and other craft stuff, when I already have a ton of it that hasn't been touched, spending hours shopping for one thing (supposedly), reading a love story about a vampire, etc, etc. I guess I just have to remember that we both have our own interests, and that's what makes life interesting . . . right!? I thought his little map below was appropriate for this post. LOL!!

Everybody's Doing It (Second Edition) . . .

Another thing that I was hearing a lot about and of course, didn't want to be left out of the loop, was about the books by Stephenie Meyer. I heard that the author was LDS and the books were even on sale at Deseret Book. I heard that it was a love story, and it was about Vampires. I also heard that the books were voted the best of the decade, and on the New York Times best sellers list. Now wouldn't all of that peak your interest!? Anyway, since I just finished another book, and needed something new to read, I decided to borrow the first one from one of my friends. Although the book was different from what I usually read, I'll admit, it was very interesting, and I kept wanting to read more and more! I actually read the 500 page book in a little less than a week (I think that's a record for me)! Now I need to get my hands on the second one . . . maybe I should wait a while though and clean my house and feed my kids. . . they haven't eaten all week! Ha Ha Ha!

Everybody's Doing It . . .

It's funny how even as adults, we want to do what other people are doing. . . we want to fit in and be able to relate and talk about similar things, etc. A lot of people I know were going to the Broadway musical, "Wicked". For those of you who aren't familiar with this musical, it's the story before the Wizard of Oz. It explains how the good witch and the bad witch came to be, etc. Since everyone was saying how good it was, I mentioned to my husband that it would be fun to go to sometime. So, guess what he did!? He surprised me with tickets (He must be trying to get on my good side for some reason . . . two big surprises within a month)! LOL! Believe me, just mentioning that I want something doesn't always result in him getting it for me! I have to say the musical was amazing. I don't usually buy CD's or listen to them much for that matter (I know, I'm weird), but I bought this one today and have been listening to it over and over again.

It was playing at the Pantages Theater on Hollywood Blvd.

My cute Hubby and Me (I dressed in green and black in honor of the wicked witch)! LOL!

Weston Barney got in on it and surprised his wife, Jennie too!

We should have gotten a picture of all four of us together, and then I would have just posted one . . . maybe next time! Thanks for going with us, Barneys . . . it was a lot of fun!

Ever wonder if your food storage has gone bad?

Does it look like this?
I think this tomato sauce that was in our food storage might have gone bad . . . what do you think?

More funny conversations with Cade!

While Cade was watching Barney, they started singing the "I love you, you love me" song, and so he came over to me and was hugging me, while we both sang the song (this is his tradition whenever that song comes on) . . .

Cade: You smell like really poo! (while squirming away from me and running away)

If you can't tell, what he meant was you really smell like poo! I guess his idea of the smell of a zesty chicken bowl from Taco Bell on my breath was poo! LOL! Leave it to kids to be brutally honest!

While sitting in Church during sacrament meeting . . .

Craig: Cade, you need to be quiet when we are at church.

Cade (pointing to the speaker and speaking in a very loud voice): But that man up there is talking really loud, he needs to be quiet too!

Obviously he doesn't understand this concept of a "Speaker" especially when it is not him! He always wants it to be him!

While eating dinner last night, after Cade has just put a blob of ketchup on the table . . .

Me: Cade, don't put ketchup on the table . . . just leave it on your plate.

Cade: But, it's a ketchup man!

After I clean up the ketchup man and Cade proceeds to put multiple blobs of ketchup on the table. . .

Me: Cade, I told you not to put ketchup on the table, now you don't get to have ketchup with your food.

Cade: But, it's a ketchup family!

Well, at least I know Cade has quite the imagination and is very creative, but does he have to be so messy while using his imagination and creativity!?

Craig (while pointing at one of his classmates shoes): Cade, what color are her shoes?

Cade: Umm, silver!

Craig: Not quite . . . their gold!

Cade (with big eyes and a look of realization on his face): There are gold plates in the Book of Mormon!

I guess he really is learning something from the childrens Book of Mormon that I've been reading to him . . . sometimes I've wondered!
